Editing for the music video

After the filming process, we began editing. We used The iMovie app because my pc wasn’t in shape to work. It’s a very easy application to use because anybody with an iPhone can use it. Luckily everyone in our group had iPhones. So we were able to edit off our phones. This made the entire process less stressful because nothing extra was needed. And the fact that we used our phones to film made even easier. In iMovie you can trim the videos and put them in order. You can also add any filters necessary for color correction. It also comes with preset transitions for the video to create better pacing. Overall, using iMovie has been really effective. It’s very practical for our group members who are not experienced in editing.

Before placing our clips into iMovie, we needed to see which clips were usable and which needed to be trimmed. During this phase of editing, we discovered some issues, mostly with videos needing to be trimmed, but some clips needed to be re-done. Some of our group members started to panic a little, but we managed to get our heads together. We realized that we had enough time to go back to the beach and re-film the clips that needed to be better. after trimming the videos that could be used we were surprised with the results so far. This happened before we even put the audio from the music into the video. Macy and Adriana took a step outside to record a song using the voice memos app and then paste it into the music video. They recorded it by playing the music off of Macy’s phone and recording the audio with Adriana‘s phone. They were successful in their attempt. We put the music in and really felt it coming together.

When we are going through the clips that we had we noticed that there were a few videos that needed to be redone. This means that at least one of our group members would have to go back and record more footage to meet the time requirements. This may have caused some stress among our group but we managed to pull it together. We had faith in each other that we would get that music video done we have trust in one another. The actors will have to be wearing the same clothes as they were on the day of filming. They would need to be plenty of continuity re-filming the needed clips

Music video filming at the beach

The location for out music video was very flexible. We used the idea to do a sunrise/ sunset type of vibe. We also had a backup plan if that didn’t work out for some reason that a rainy day would work too. The song we chose can be interpreted in many different ways therefore we worked it any way. We used the beach For our location. We didn’t have any issues with health and safety. We Were able to make sure that the beach was safe for use. We Made sure we were not in the way of any beach goers and got their permission if we needed them in the video.

Our biggest props was the car and some lifeguard stands. Of course we are not sure if these will make it in the video during the editing process but we'll see. We would also used some beach towels, sunglasses. Costumes for our music video were some "typical Floridian" beach wear. Some shorts and a tank top or a bathing suit as we were going for a "beach vibe". Anything that is considered beach or beach like clothing.

The camera angles we will be using for the music video are going to be: wide shot,  pan, tilt, trunk shot, high angle shot, close ups and two people shots. for our male protagonist, we will be using our friend Sam. were giving g him a beach boy look. we will be using no beauty make up. Sunblock was used as our version of make up. we had a few props. we used towels, cars, the pier. we are mainly relying on the setting to tell our story. Our setting was at the Lauderdale by the sea beach. we were under the fishing pier for a large portion of the music video.
