So we planned on filming the past weekend but our schedules didn’t match well so we didn’t get to film. We thought of the idea to do a sunrise/ sunset type of vibe. We also thought that if that doesn't work out for some reason that a rainy day would work too. The song we chose can be interpreted in many different ways therefore we can work it any way. Our preferred location would be the beach and if not an open large field. Health and safety would be mostly considered for our car shots. We also need to make sure that the beach is safe for use. We want to make sure we are not in the way of any beach goers and get their permission if we need them in the video.
The costumes that we will be using are bathing suits and hoodies. We are wearing these not for their intended use but to give of a hip look. it is used for the intended Florida aesthetic. we will also be wearing sunglasses, flip flops and sandals. For the lighting of our music video, we will be relying largely on the sun. we also will have scenes in the dark so we will be using the white light from our phones. So the main source of our lighting will natural light.
Our schedule for the music video would go as follows. By the 21st of November we needed to decide our location which we have already. By the 25th of November we want to have most if not all of our filming finished and documented (pt.1). By the 2nd of December the pt.2 of the last completion process should be finished. Filming would be done and clips would be decided on and placed in order to be edited. By the 9th of December our music video would be needed to be fully complete with added sound and full editing etc. Lastly, by the 11th of December the final assessment and analysis of our music video would be complete and wed wrap up the project.

Music Video Storyboard
The costumes that we will be using are bathing suits and hoodies. We are wearing these not for their intended use but to give of a hip look. it is used for the intended Florida aesthetic. we will also be wearing sunglasses, flip flops and sandals. For the lighting of our music video, we will be relying largely on the sun. we also will have scenes in the dark so we will be using the white light from our phones. So the main source of our lighting will natural light. For our cast (actors) we have the female protagonist which will be played by one of our members sister, (Kelly). She will be the one running around with the towel around her neck. The camera angles we will be using for the music video are going to be: wide shot, pan, tilt, trunk shot, high angle shot, close ups and two people shots. for our male protagonist, we will be using our friend Sam. were giving g him a beach boy look. we will be using no beauty make up. sunblock will be used as our version of make up. we have a few props. we will be using towels, cars, the pier. we are mainly relying on the setting to tell our story. For our setting we will be at the Lauderdale by the sea beach. we will be under the fishing pier for a large portion of the music video. The editing of the video will be done by our most experienced member (Ben) on his iBUYPOWER Gaming Desktop Trace2 97K80 Intel Core i7 9th Gen 9700K (3.60 GHz) 32 GB DDR4 2 TB HDD 480 GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Windows 10. The sounds of the video besides the music will have some ocean sounds in the beginning/ intro. The purpose of this to to lock in the tone of the music video. Because the music has no lyrics, the message the video gives off has to be based on the visual and instrumental, not the words.
Music Video Planning
The location for out music video is very flexible as the song we chose is instrumental. We thought of the idea to do a sunrise/ sunset type of vibe. We also thought that if that doesn't work out for some reason that a rainy day would work too. The song we chose can be interpreted in many different ways therefore we can work it any way. We want to make sure we are not in the way of any beach goers and get their permission if we need them in the video.
Our biggest props would be a car and some lifeguard stands. Of course we are not going to specifically buy any of these items for our music video as we already have access to them. We would also need some beach towels, sunglasses, stick/drone to get high shots. Costumes for our music video would some "typical Floridian". Some shorts and a tank top or a bathing suit as we are going for a "beach vibe". Anything that is considered beach or beach like clothing.

Intro to music video
The transition from the commercial to music video was difficult. We had a hard time coming up with a song to use that we all liked. It was also tough coming up with concepts for the video we would make and how long we can use that concept until we ran out of possible ideas for the rest of the video. We had to work with more demanding standards. The video would have to be at least as twice as long as our commercial. The song we chose is called Sunset Lover by Petit Biscuit. The song is not extremely popular, and neither is the artist, however developing a concept for the song was rather easy. The song doesn't have words, making it more instrumental, but has a type of beat that can be used to create a good story. Due to the fact that the song is so instrumental is has a strong beat that can portray a sad situation or something really happy. My team and I decided to go with a beachy concept of teens having fun during the summer, driving around, enjoying their time and watching the sunset go by. This song would fall into a mix of EDM music but mostly Tropical house or vapor wave. To set up the feeling and theme we want for our music video we want to make sure that we accomplish six things. For the vapor wave genre: 1st- The costumes, are very retro, modern and a somewhat neo-noir style.2nd- The lighting, very bright positive colors like what would be in a sunset, also giving a mellow tone.3rd - The Acting, is a calm non hyper-feeling.4th- The Makeup, there is minimal makeup done in this genre. It doesn't focus on the looks of the actors.5th- The props, skate boards, bikes, and other things that you would normal use and see as calming6th- The scenery, is a beach-like late afternoon early night.

Final editing blog
Today we did the final editing for our commercial. The first step we did was import all of the clips we recorded onto the computer. Next we needed to import all of the clips onto fl pinnacle studios. The next step was to select which clips we wanted to use. There was a lot of trips we had to choose from. We were very relieved that we took so many shots. A lot of clips had minor issues in them either with the visual or the audio. We did have enough takes that were fine to use. We then took our selected perfect clips and edited them together.
We did this by dragging one clip onto the other. You need to make the end of the first clip touch the beginning of the second clip. By doing this you can play them with no gap between the clips. The next step we did what is make the clips shorter and go together more smoothly. We needed to remove the beginning of the clips before the scene starts. This removes anything we didn't want once the camera started rolling. Once we had the clips shortened and pasted together we had to work with the audio. Most of what we had recorded originally was what we were going to use. A few of the clips needed to be re recorded for the audio. We had to import the new audio we recorded today. It was the same process as importing the visual clips.
Under the visual clip line there is a audio clip line. We took the audio clip to and trimmed it down to match the visual. Then we inserted the audio into the audio line for the scene. Another issued we had to deal with was the narration/voiceover. We recorded voiceover for the slogan of the commercial. Doing this was rather easy all we needed to do was play the audio over a picture of the Gatorade bottle itself. Next we had to insert a picture of the Gatorade logo at the end. After we finished all the editing we watched the final product. We noticed the speed of the voiceover didn't match the clip it was on. We figured out how to speed up the audio without speeding up the visual.

Editing
We went outside to film the last bit of our commercial. We filmed Macy walking towards the camera and catching the Gatorade bottle from off screen saying “After my game I love to take a nice refreshing sip of Gatorade”. We also needed a sound of the Gatorade cap cracking open. So we went into the shed at the field and recorded sound of the Gatorade bottle opening. At the beginning of the class we were informed that pinnacle Studios was not functioning properly, we tried dumping our footage. Our teacher kept saying to try again. We did as instructed and still couldn’t get it to work, we called for help and the teacher couldn’t dump the footage either. With dumping, we had to extract our footage from Adrianas phone to the computer and import it into pinnacle studios. What we are going to do for the editing process is add color correction, Crowd sound effects, audio of a soccer ball being kicked and other effects. The title of this blog can be misleading, there was no editing actually completed in class. The editing software we are supposed to use, pinnacle studios, was not working. This made it very difficult for us, because we didn’t know what should be re-videoed since we didn’t get to lay out our footage. However, it did make it so we had an extra day to finish our ending-clips for the commercial project. At the end of our commercial, I have to say a statement and then catch a bottle of Gatorade. This is the part that we filmed today. Everything worked out better today than last class. The weather was clear and there were very few people outside since most had already finished filming. This made it easier to get the right shot and we had to take much fewer takes than last class. We believe we got the right clip for the video. I like the way it looks and you can clearly hear Macy’s voice even though it was kind of windy outside. This might change whether we voiceover the whole commercial or not. For the actual taping of the video, Macy put on on her soccer uniform on top of her school clothes to save some time. We then only did the scenes we knew we needed more filming for. This allowed us to still have time to finish this blog when we got back to class. For these clips As soon as after Macy says the word Gatorade, I tossed a Gatorade bottle to her. This adds a cooler feeling through Macy saying “Gatorade”. For most of the videos, we had to retake them because my tossing of the bottle was not perfected for a good amount of time. When tossing the bottle, I had to do it from the right angle so my arm wouldn’t get in the shot. They also had to make sure that the bottle was up-right and down so that Macy could easily catch it. This process took a while to perfect but we eventually got it. The clip we took today I believe was *the one*. Macy caught the bottle without looking to the side and said her line with a good pronunciation. Next class we will hopefully begin the editing process.

Filming
For our filming we used Adriana’s iPhone 11 pro. It had a higher quality camera than the ones at our disposal and had auto stabilization. For outfits we had Macy (who played our main character) dress in her school soccer uniform. I played the goalie, so I wore red and black athletic shorts and a red long sleeve shirt. We went out onto football/soccer field and filmed there. We started filming with Macy doing a trick with the ball and then dribbling the ball towards the goal and kicking it into the goal. We than filmed the same process at least three or four times for safety takes. After we filmed that we moved on to filming the event from a different angle. This time the shot would have me in it as the goalie. When Macy would kick the ball towards the goal, I would dive for it but ultimately miss so she would score. We followed the same process a couple more times and tried to find which take was the best. We decided which take we wanted to use and moved on to the next shot. The next shot have the camera close to my back but to where you would see Macy kicking the ball into the goal. A funny event that happened while filming this was when Macy kicked the ball towards the goal and ended up with the ball hitting me in the face. As much as it hurt, I can’t deny that it was pretty hilarious. We did a couple more takes, and thankfully I didn’t get hit again, and found which take was the best. After that we filmed a shot of the ball going towards the camera as Macy kicked it towards the goal. This was one of the harder shots to get. Mainly because we couldn’t get the ball to go exactly where we wanted wanted to. We took a lot of takes to see if we could get the shot we wanted. Another on- set goof that took place was when we were filming this, Macy kicked the ball and hit Adriana’s phone out of her hands and we got it on camera. The next scene we filmed was Macy walking towards the camera and a hand from off screen gives her the Gatorade. Macy the recites the line: “after a long game, I need to replenish my energy, and nothing gets the job done better than Gatorade.” She then takes a long sip of the Gatorade and then looks at the camera. After what felt like a long process of filming, my group and I are happy with the final product we have. Each group member put a lot of effort in there role and we hope the editing process goes smoothly. We plan to add multiple effects and such during the editing phase. We are going to add a crowd sound effect, some audio of heavy breathing, better color correction, and sound effects of the ball being kicked. After a lot of planning, our vision is finally being realized and we have a better idea of what the final product will look like. I’m excited to get this video edited and fully realized for presentations.
